Seventh grade band is a continuation of the skills that were learned in sixth grade band. Students enrolling in seventh grade band must have participated in band in sixth grade. Students that are new to Hickory Middle School can enroll in band if they participated in band at their previous school. New instruments are added to the ensemble including oboe, bassoon, French horn, baritone and tuba. As the students skill set advances they are able to play more challenging music and tryout for events such as the All-District Band. Seventh grade students are also eligible to audition for our extra-curricular jazz band and woodwind choir.
